Today’s newsletter isn’t about cakes or pastries—it's about something deeply personal. As many of you know, behind Rawsome Patisserie is a family, and right now, our family is facing a critical challenge.
On November 25th, our lives took an unexpected turn when I had to call an ambulance for my husband, Robert, who has been a silent pillar of support in building this gluten-free bakery business with me. He has been diagnosed with Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) and requires immediate intervention. What started as severe toe pain led to a diagnosis that shook our world: gangrene, caused by an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA). For those unfamiliar, AAA is a serious condition where the main blood vessel carrying blood from the heart to the lower body becomes dangerously enlarged, risking rupture and affecting blood flow to various parts of the body.
After numerous hospital visits in Dubai and receiving the treatment cost estimates, we made the difficult decision to seek medical care in Baku, where treatment costs were more manageable for us. This journey meant I've had to temporarily step away from my beloved bakery and all the wonderful customers who have become like family.
However, after only two days of unsuccessful trips to doctors in Baku, we had to immediately return back to Dubai to continue the treatment, where my husband felt safe and being understood and taken care of. Now, on Monday, December 9th, the first operation is taking place this morning. Your prayers on this day especially go a long way.
